Dr. Blum is the Founder and Director of Blum Center for Health, the Co-Founder and Chief Medical Officer of Organic Pharmer Health Food Eatery, is a Senior Teaching Faculty Member for the Center for Mind-Body Medicine in Washington D.C., and is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Preventive Medicine at The Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.
Following a functional medicine approach, Dr. Blum is focused on finding and treating the triggers that cause disease. Utilizing this functional approach, including the concept of “food as medicine”, Dr. Blum has solved her own health challenges and leveraged her expertise and experience into the development of Blum Center for Health. She has also written two books, “Healing Arthritis” and “The Immune System Recovery Plan: A Doctor’s 4 Step Program to Treat Autoimmune Disease” and several journal articles.
Background and Education:
Dr. Blum received her BA in Neurobiology at Cornell University, her MD at SUNY Downstate Medical Center, and her MPH at Columbia University. She completed her medical internship at St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital and her Preventive Medicine residency at The Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. Dr. Blum is Board Certified in Preventive Medicine and Certified in Functional Medicine and Integrative Holistic Medicine.
