Ronald I. Dozoretz, MD is the Founder and Chairman of Genomind. He is a recognized national leader and advocate for mental healthcare quality, access, and innovation. He is known for his ability and success in bringing new programs and models of care into clinical practice and the market. He is also the Founder and Chairman of ValueOptions, Inc., one of the nation’s leading behavioral health and wellness companies, serving over 32 million people.
Dr. Dozoretz has held numerous positions with healthcare-related professional organizations, including the American Medical Association, the American Psychiatric Association and the National Association of Psychiatric Health Systems. He previously served as a member of the Board of Advisors for RAND Health, and Board of Directors for the National Health Policy Council and for the National Foundation for Mental Health. He has advised the Newt Gingrich Center for Health Transformation.
Background and Education
A graduate of the State University of New York, Dr. Dozoretz received his medical degree from the University of Buffalo with specialty training in psychiatry from Case Western University Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio. After graduation, he served as Lieutenant Commander at the U.S. Naval Hospital in Portsmouth, Virginia. He then began his career in private practice as Founder and Senior Partner of Center Psychiatrists, Ltd. He also founded one of the first psychiatric hospitals in Eastern Virginia, which evolved into his first U.S. psychiatric hospital system company.
